Advocacy and Community Outreach
Pediatric Anesthesia Associates is proud to support local foundations and charitable organizations that work to improve the healthcare access and the quality of care for the children of our community.
- PAA contributes to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation for pediatric cancer research.

- Our department at Norton Children’s Hospital is also proud to be involved in the Recycling Equipment at Children’s Hospital (REACH) program.
REACH recovers medical supplies and equipment from the operating room that would otherwise be discarded. These supplies are then shipped with financial aid from charitable organizations to developing countries to improve the medical care of children in those countries.
- We are also pleased to have several physicians and nurse anesthetists who participate in medical missionary work in developing countries including Kenya, Ecuador, and Guatemala.
Below, our own CRNA, Erica Padgett appears on the February 2014 cover of The American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) Journal. Erica performs an inhalation induction during a mission trip to Kenya. Erica was a member of a medical team from Kosair Children’s Hospital volunteering with KenyaRelief.org. “It was the most rewarding thing I’ve ever done,” said Erica.
